Bonny and Read

We were feeling a steak dinner kind of night last night! We decided to hit up Bonny and Read, one of our favorite seafood and steak house’s in C. Springs.

Honestly this place never disappoints. We always have great service and leave feeling happy and full. They are located downtown Colorado Springs on the corner of Tejon and Kiowa. They are known for their seafood, but their steaks are just as amazing. I also love the ambiance of this restaurant. They have pretty chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and a screen that shows fish swimming also. It’s an elegant feel without being too over the top.

When we walked in we saw a couple drinking this super fun big blue drink and we knew then we definitely were ordering that. Its called the shark bowl which is a rum tropical drink that serves two people. It was just fun to order a big drink like that and it tasted really good! After we got drinks ordered we were ready to order the rest. This go around we went with the lobster corn chowder and the shrimp and scallop ceviche to start. This corn chowder is one of our favorites and something we always order when we come. The  ceviche was a new thing and I also thought it was delicious and had good flavor. The portion was a little small for the price, but we still really enjoyed it. For our main course I ordered the filet mignon that comes with mashed potatoes and broccilini. I also added on the hollandaise and that was a great choice. My steak was cooked to perfection, very tender and had excellent taste. My husband decided on the rib eye, he also got his smothered in the hollandaise with crab and he was very happy with his meal as well. For dessert we got the pineapple upside down cake. I’m going to have to say this was just average for us. The cake itself was slightly dry, we prefer it a little more dense but that is ok. I saw another couple try the funny bone, a chocolate cake with peanut butter cream and that looked so good. I think we will try that next time we are in.

I also have to talk about their service. Every time we have been in our service has been on point and last night it was also very great. Our waitress was engaging and on top of it and that really makes the whole experience for us. Thank you Bonny and Read for another great date night out, we will be back in soon for a happy hour!

Also on a side note when we were in they were serving a five course meal with pairings. This is a special event they do once a month and you have to get tickets online before hand but we are definitely wanting to get in to try that out! Sound very fun!
